Gary L. Stump, Founding and Senior Pastor, Onward Church, Fishers, Indiana.
Gary tells, “As a native Hoosier I was in the business world for almost 20 years, but became a pastor after my wife was killed when our car was hit by a drunk driver. Her death left me with our four young children (ages 5, 7, 9 and 11). God used this time to teach me the value of my faith and His word, and the special joy of my family. In 1989 I remarried, Kathy, and together we raised our four children, and added one more son. Our four oldest children are married and are faithfully serving the Lord through the ministries of their local churches. By God’s grace we have 18 beautiful grandchildren. One of my greatest joys is having all the kids and grandkids over to our house for dinner. The chaos is awesome! For recreation I read, root for the Colts, play golf, and fish with my son in the pristine streams and lakes of New York’s Adirondack Mountains.” Gary studied at Indiana University, The American College, Crossroads Bible College (BS Leadership & Ministry), The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, The King’s University (Master of Theology—Messianic Jewish Studies), and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Messianic Jewish Studies at The King’s University. Gary has been pastoring in Indiana since 1990, and founded Onward Church in November 2011.

Matthew A. Vander Wiele, Ed. D., Associate Pastor, Onward Church
Online instructor for Liberty University School of Divinity; High School Bible Instructor at Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis.
Matt shares: “My wife Abby and I have been in Christian education and church ministry together since marriage. We love to serve in our local church and have been a part of leadership in multiple churches over the years. I enjoy assisting folks in understanding the Truth of God’s Word in a time where culture has a low view of God, His Word, humanity, biblical marriage and gender, sin and our need for Jesus. Ignorance is not an excuse to not have an answer for our deteriorating state. Jesus is that answer. By God’s grace and in spite of me, I have a beautiful and wise wife, four children (Molly—19, Maggie–17, Ezekiel–14 and Levi–11). I enjoy time with my family in up-state New York in the summer where we love be outside riding dirt bikes, fishing, and boating in the Adirondack mountains where I am originally from. I love date nights with my wife, thrift shopping and being with my kids.” Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Communications from Liberty University, Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University School of Divinity and Doctor of Education specializing in Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
