Nursery (ages newborn to Pre-K)

A safe and fun environment is provided for our youngest ones.  The Bible is taught in a way that they can understand, and activities are provided for their enjoyment by qualified workers.

Kid’s Church (grades K-5)

At Onward, we place a high emphasis on children and students.  Our children’s programming mainly consists of Kid’s Church, which takes place during morning worship for children in grades Kindergarten through fifth.  Kid’s Church consists of main story time, worship, small groups, group activities, crafts, bible drills, review games, and more.  Our children’s staff helps to lead all activities and supervision of all children is always a top priority.

Middle School Students (Grades 6-8)

Our middle school students (6-8) meet on Sunday evenings at the church from 6:00-8:00pm.  We serve dinner, have worship, teaching time, and small groups.  Usually between 30-50 students participate in our weekly middle school youth group.  Besides Sunday evenings, middle school students have fall retreats, summer camp, parties for certain holidays, and opportunities to serve.

High School Students (Grades 9-12)

Our high school students (9-12) are meeting on alternating Wednesday evenings for a bible study held at a local student’s home.  We provide light snacks, currently watching The Chosen series, and then have small groups.  As middle school, this bible study is well-attended and provides high school students with a unique opportunity to take time and delve into God’s Word.  As with middle school, high school students also have fall retreats, summer camp, and other ministry opportunities.

Small Groups

We believe that participating in a Small Group is a key factor in the spiritual growth and development for a follower of Christ.  So, we provide small groups on the first and third Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:15pm at our facility.  Children’s small groups are offered at this time as well as adult groups.

Celebrating the Feasts of Israel

In addition to celebrating the traditional Christian holidays, because we are a congregation made up of Jewish and Gentile followers of Messiah, we celebrate the Biblical feasts including Passover, Pentecost (Shavuot), Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), and Hanukkah…just like Jesus did.  This past Passover we held a seder which was attended by 300 people.

Marriage Retreats

In February each year we sponsor a Marriage Retreat in a “get away” location.  This time away includes teaching time plus relaxing time to focus on and strengthen our marriages which we believe are the foundation of our society.  Dr. Matthew VanderWiele, Associate Pastor, leads this outstanding program.

Family Camp

In the Fall (usually September) we gather for Family Camp which is a time for the church family to get away for fun, food, and friendship.  We have four teaching and worship sessions with plenty of free time to explore the area.  Saturday evenings we provide a wonderful dinner so that we can all eat together.  The kids say that this is one of the highlights of the year.
